I first became involved with Model United Nations as an undergraduate student at the University of Texas at Tyler. As a student, I learned how to negotiate resolutions to complex international topics with colleagues from around the world. After graduating in 2012, I continued with several conferences as a volunteer staff member. I coordinated diverse multinational teams of volunteer staff members and direct college students in multiple days of intense diplomatic negotiation. Prior to the conference, my staff teams collaborated remotely to prepare training materials and technical guides for the students. In addition to fostering a deep love of international relations and diplomacy, my time with Model UN has taught me how to be a proactive and conscientious mentor.
